If it Matters to You, it Matters to Us.

Our Story

Cite was founded on one simple truth: Whether you're an attorney, paralegal, legal assistant or court reporter, you expect personal, reliable support from your Court Reporting Service — no matter how tough the challenge, or the deadline.

It’s our goal to offer busy litigators and support staffers unmatched professionalism in court reporting, videography, videoconferencing, interpretation and trial support services — anywhere in the world.

At the same time, we’re equally committed to maintaining a family-friendly work environment, where the best court reporting professionals have the technical and personal support they need to succeed. Because if there’s one thing we’ve learned from our decades of combined experience, it’s this: A court reporting service is only as good as its court reporters — and the best court reporters deserve nothing less than the best from us.

We live for the challenge this business brings us every day, we love making the impossible happen, and we’ve invested ourselves in creating a win-win organization — both for our clients and our employees. So how can we make your job easier, your time more productive, and your efforts more successful? We want to know. Because at Cite, if it matters to you, it matters to us.

Without Tommy, Cite would not exist.

I never met Tommy Thames. I want to be clear about that, because what I'm about to say might read like the words of someone who knew him well. In a way, I feel like I did; but the truth is, our entire relationship existed through one act of generosity that I don't think he ever made a big deal of.

Cite opened in August 2017. By 2022, I had buried my brother and my sister-in-law. I was still in that grief when I received a letter from an attorney telling me I needed to come up with a significant amount of money (quickly) to preserve what I had built. I liquidated my savings. I cashed in a college fund I had for my daughter. I still wasn't going to make it.

I was talking to a dear friend of mine (someone close to Tommy) and I told him where I was. I wasn't asking for anything. I just needed to say it out loud to someone I trusted.

About a week later, I got an email from Tommy's accountant asking for financials on Cite.

Within a month, I had closed on acquiring my partner's interest. The company was mine. And it was still alive.

Since that day, Cite has grown by more than 200%. That growth has meant jobs, careers, and livelihoods for the people who work here. None of it happens without that phone call Tommy made...for a man he had never met.

I've thought about that a lot over the years. He didn't know me. He didn't owe me anything. He heard enough to believe, and he acted quietly, without ever making it a story about himself.

To his family, I hope you know that his character showed up in the lives of people he never even crossed paths with. I'm one of them. And I'm grateful every single day.

Rest easy, Tommy.
